Today Modest Fashion Influencer and Computer science graduate Halima Mustapha shares with us what she regularly calls ” Instagram Wahala”
“After years of been on Instagram as a Modest fashion Influencer, it’s safe to say I have learned a couple of things in the Instagram world. Some of which are positive and some negative. it’s good to know them all because you can’t just do away with some things in life. Permit me to say this is my opinion and I don’t expect everybody to agree with all that I have here.

RESPECT COMES WITH LOT OF FOLLOWERS.
The amount of respect you get depends on the number of Instagram followers you have. You will see comments like “hello Ma” “nice outfit Ma” “kfb Ma” these people who are years older than you, but because of the number of followers you have, you instantly turn their grand Ma. They will make it a daily obligation to always drop comments under one’s post. Nonetheless, we appreciate them whole heartedly. #Appreciatepeople

EVERYBODY WANT TO BE BASMA K.
A big shout out to Basma. There is nothing wrong with having a role model or someone you look up to but sometimes People just want to be some else, forgetting that they can be themselves and still win hearts. Self-love is ultimate, if you don’t love yourself enough you won’t appreciate whatever you do. I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a celebrity crush or role model because I also have a lot of people I admire irrespective of their number of followers but it is important that you always try to be You.#Beyourself

FAKE LIVES
It’s no news that there are a lot of fake lives on Instagram. People trying to impress people at all means just for the increase in a number of likes/followers. I mean why spend all your money on material things just to be able to use the phrase or tag “bag by” “outfit by”. There is nothing bad in seeing something nice on Instagram and wanting one for yourself . you can reach out to the seller, if it’s something you can afford go for it, If you can’t, keep calm and wear your Okirika. life is too short to try and impress people just for a “like”. A lot of times in the fashion world everything is all about packaging and how you eventually present yourself. Don’t let anyone make you feel less of yourself because you ain’t wearing a designer.#cutyourclothaccordingtoyoursize.

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY.
Another thing I have seen so far on IG is that people will not post their friend’s picture with 100 followers or less on Wednesday for #WCW. Only that of an Instagram celebrity and I’m beginning to wonder if their friends aren’t women. Maybe they are still girls.. lol. Why not appreciate your own friend who will appreciate it better than your Instagram celeb that won’t even like the post or acknowledge your effort. People should learn how to appreciate their own.#appreciateyourfriends

I REFUSE TO BE ALL NEGATIVE.
Regardless of the negativities, there are a whole lot of positive things happening on IG.
You will meet people who will appreciate you for who you are regardless of your number of followers. A sister will appreciate you and promote your business without even knowing you most especially the Muslim community which I am a lot into. the way sisters support each other is amazing and incredible. shout out to all the amazing sisters out there and to my sisters that have been there since the days of 10 followers. Thanks for the love, your reward is in heaven. wink
Did you notice I emphasized a lot on followers, it was deliberate because people go all over in the name of getting followers, some people even quit their business because they do not have a huge amount of followers on IG which I find sad. Your focus should be on building a brand and when you are focused on that, the followers will come and for those aren’t necessarily into business, self Love is key…”
That was Interesting right? The Modest Fashion Influencer have said it all, You can follower her on IG @_lee_ma
How long have you been on Instagram and what have you learnt from the App? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section….
??? I don’t want to believe that people actually quit their jobs to be instagram celebs..are you kidding me ??. Nonetheless interesting article
Hmmm…My sister, it happens most especially with people who just want to be successful in a day. Thank you for stopping by.
lolssss….i really agree with sis halima ….four of these she mention happened to my friend but it really sound funny at time …but i do appreciate all the sisters i do follower most of these sisters include @leema,……i keep the rest
some we even quit their work all because there is one celeb sister that does similar thing …..its unbelievable
This is accurate and insightful. I have learnt something and I also encourage that we live life on our own terms. Instagram business is not by followers, I have seen people with large followers with no sales and people with small followers but huge sales. May Allah ease our affairs amin
Amin yaa Rabb
Well said darling..I say: cut your cloth according to your material sef..Everyone is a celebrity in their own way cos we all have what makes us unique… Focus on yourself first before anyone else….
Absolutely true.
