10 types of people you can’t escape as a blogger.

As difficult as blogging can be, it can be interesting as well. The people you meet on a daily basis can either make you feel good or make you question your decision to go the blogging route but either way, the passion you have for it and the hard work you put into it is all that matters. So here are people you are most likely to come across in your blogging career:

#1

The supporter: Honestly, I like these ones, they always give me ginger! they say things like wow! you are also a blogger in addition to all that you do, well done! you go girl! the sky is your starting point”. They are always ready to recommend you and tag you on a beneficial post.

#2

The surprised ones: These ones always seem confused to me. They keep saying “wow! wow! how do you even do it”? why are you a blogger? why blogging? They don’t show happiness and neither do they show sadness, Answering them can be trickish. I always ask them why they seem surprised because that helps keep the conversation going.

#3

The irritated ones: Honestly these ones define Ignorance because they always give you the “of all the things you can do in this world, you choose to go for blogging?” face and for some reason they always think all bloggers are gossip bloggers.

#4

The Preachers: These ones have a beautiful smile and most times they smile when they preach, they say things like “it’s good oo but don’t be like those bloggers that promote all sort of things on their blog, let your blog touch lives. May God be with you”

#5

The Linda Ikeji hailers: These ones always think they are funny, but they aren’t at all. Like why do you immediately think I want to be like Linda Ikeji or Linda Ikeji is my Mentor. No doubt she has done well  for herself and for alot of young Ladies out there but it is not for you to think all bloggers look up to her.

#6

The excited ones: I always want to laugh my life out whenever I meet these ones. You hear them say things like “woow! so you are a blogger! thank God I now have a blogger as a friend.” and when they have to introduce you to someone else they go ” Meet my blogger friend”. They can be so cute though! and they tend to make one blush.

#7

The Ambitious ones: They always make me feel like one serious blogger because they tend to ask all the questions in the world related to blogging. You will hear things like ” And I have always wanted to become a blogger oo but…., How is it like? how do you get money from it e.t.c

#8

The Begi-Begi: How do you even meet me for the first time and all you begin to say is: “haa! so you are a blogger! Aunty help us now! help us showcase our products.we just launched and we need support”…. What these people don’t understand is, showcasing products is part of blogging and it doesn’t come for free.

#9

The blogger’s chairperson: These ones remind me of how good my listening ears are because all they want to do is to list all the bloggers they know. like : “So you are also a blogger. You must know people like Sisi yemmie, Tosin of OSG, Ono of OB  e.t.c right?” they always want to prove something to you And that something I don’t really know.

#10

The Assumer: I enjoy playing with their minds, Shebi you can’t ask a simple question, all you want to do is assume, oya let’s have fun. They enjoy saying things like “your skin is smooth, You must be a fashion blogger”. I love responding “Really! or you think so! to frustrate them the more.

If you are yet to meet any of these people, Be ready! because you will and If you have, Please share your experience(s) in the comment section. Do hope you had a good Laugh.

See you in my next post In shaa Allah.

  1. LOL…

Interesting content. I’ve had to meet one or two on my blogging journey.

Trust me, these are people that makes your blogging career more fun.

  2. Omg! This list is just so so accurate.

The ones I don’t like the most are the Linda Ikeji preachers. I sometimes (that’s if I feel they deserve an explanation) tell them that I have been blogging since 2011. No one knew what blogging was. I looooooooooved the idea and I didn’t know Linda Ikeji then for crying out loud.

And then you see the irritated ones? Arrrgrrrh. I am sorry this is where I want to pour out all my aggravation and frustration o.

You see there was this irritated one that one day looked at me and said, ‘everyone has a blog, dhuuuuuuur’. She felt she was cool. I smiled, of course, forced the sick smile.

I wanted to ask, have you seen my blog? Uhn? Have you read my blog? Have you been freaking there? Who the heck even told you I have a blog? I just am angry with that person right now o, who? Have you seen that it didn’t start today? That I didn’t post last 3 months ago like ‘everyone’ who has a blog?

But oh my, I was too vexed. She touched that weak spot.

  5. Cant stop laughing baraka, trust me have met all of them. I actually like the exicted ones, they somehow make me feel important with the meet my blogger friend thing. The ones i hate most are those ones that expect me to have a mansion in banana island already because have been blogging for two years. You will hear, how far now? How much are you getting from google per month? Make i send my account number? Like, not just your account num, send that of your parent in short your whole family and open one for your coming generation.

  6. Although I am a Youtuber not a blogger,I have met a few people but the most annoying ones are the ones that say “hmmm everyone wants to be a youtuber or a blogger because they have a camera”
Aunty is it paining you that you don’t have a camera ?it is just tooo annoying

  7. OMG!!!I’m so glad I read this post and I can’t stop laughing.Trust me girl…I’ve seen it all especially the Linda ikeji hailers.I Some be like’oshey you are now a blogger like Linda ikeji now you’ll be making money’ and some would even ask you ‘how much do you make from this your blogging business na’ and I really can’t recall how many times I had to state the differences between a blogger and a website developer…
